Schwinn 170 versus Schwinn 150 Upright Exercise Bike, What's the Difference?

The Schwinn 170 Upright Exercise Bike is the updated model of the Schwinn 150. Both Schwinn exercise bikes are well-built and have plenty of features, which is just what we have come to expect from this iconic American brand.

Both the Schwinn 170 and Schwinn 150 Upright Exercise Bikes feature a perimeter weighted flywheel and magnetic ECB resistance, which together offer the user a smooth and quiet workout.

The Schwinn 170 has a more modern look to it and features several additional programs and resistance levels over the Schwinn 150.  However, as you would expect, these additional features come at a price.  The Schwinn 170 Exercise Bike retails online at around $100 more than the Schwinn 150.  So is it worth paying out the extra cash for?  Take a look at the table below for a more in-depth look at the differences in features between these two Schwinn exercise bikes.

As you can see, the Schwinn 170 offers more features over the Schwinn 150, but you have to decide whether you are likely to use them or not.

The Schwinn 150 itself has plenty of features to keep the majority of people happy with lots of programs to keep your workouts varied and interesting.  It doesn’t have nearly as many resistance levels as the 170 so if you think you’re likely to need more of a challenge, then the Schwinn 170 would be the exercise bike for you.  Also, if there are more than 2 users in your household who are likely to use the exercise bike on a regular basis, then choose the Schwinn 170 as it allows up to 4 user profiles rather than just the 2 available with the Schwinn 130.
