The Schwinn Adpat 1, 2 and 3 Folding Bikes all feature a 16” lightweight aluminum folding frame and 20” alloy wheels.  They each come with smooth rolling street tires and full wrap fenders to keep wet and mud splashes off you as you cycle.

The main differences between the Schwinn Adapt 1, 2 and 3 Folding Bikes comes down to the amount of speeds each one offers and the type of shifters and derailleurs each bike has.

The Schwinn Adapt 1 features 7 speeds with Shimano Revo Shift Twist shifters and 7-speed Shimano Tourney rear derailleur.  The Schwinn Adapt 2 features 8 speeds with Shimano Revo Shift Twist shifters and 8-speed Shimano Acera rear derailleur.  The Schwinn Adapt 3 offers the most amount of speeds – 9 speeds with Sram X5 Trigger shifters and 9-speed Sram X5 rear derailleur.

Look closely at the pictures and you’ll see that the design of the handlebars is also different – the Schwinn Adapt 1 has standard straight handlebars while the Schwinn Adapt 2 and 3 have handlebars with “curved” ends.

The Schwinn Adapt 2’s tires have the advantage of having reflective side walls for increased visibility in low light conditions.
