Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1002C versus SF-B1002 Indoor Cycle Spin Bikes, Compared

The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1002C and SF-B1002 are both well-built indoor cycles that simulate the feel of an outdoor road bike for an authentic cycling workout in the comfort of your own home.

Built with a heavy-duty steel frame, both the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1002C and SF-B1002 indoor cycles utilize a heavy 49 lb flywheel for consistent momentum together with an adjustable resistance system with press-down braking system that puts you in control.  The resistance is easy to adjust via a simple tension control knob – just twist the knob to the right to increase the resistance or to the left to decrease it.

The only difference between the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1002C and the SF-B1002 bikes comes down to the drive mechanism, with the SF-B1002C having a chain drive while the SF-B1002 has a belt drive.  Which drive system you choose comes down to personal preference, with some people preferring the chain drive of a traditional outdoor bike whereas other people prefer the belt drive system as it operates more smoothly and quietly and doesn’t need the maintenance (like oiling) that a chain requires.

Both spin bikes are solidly built and you can sit or stand to cycle as you would on a traditional outdoor bike to simulate different terrains like hill climbing.

Both bikes also feature a side-mounted water bottle holder so you can keep hydrated as you cycle.

Both the Sunny SF-B1002C and SF-B1002 feature a fully adjustable seat that can be adjusted both up/down and fore/aft for a custom fit.  The racing-style handlebars can be adjusted up and down and have multiple hand positions so each rider can find their most comfortable riding position.  Each of these spin bikes allows for a maximum user weight capacity of 275 lbs.

Motivational tip:  Just a 30 minute cycle ride could burn approx. between 207-345 calories for women, or 252-420 calories for men, depending on the intensity of the cycling.

Summary:

The Sunny SF-B1002C and SF-B1002 indoor cycles are impressive spin bikes for the money.  They’re solidly built with heavy-duty components and their adjustability makes them suitable for most cyclists.  There’s a small price difference between these 2 spin bikes, with the belt-drive version costing a little more but you will save money in the long run as it requires less maintenance than a chain drive.  Belt drives are smoother and quieter, but if you prefer the traditional chain-drive for a true authentic road bike feel, you can save yourself some hard-earned $$s on the initial outlay.  Both spin bikes are a steal at this price point!

See what customers who have bought either the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1002C or SF-B1002 Indoor Cycles have to say about them:

L.R.:
“The Sunny SF-B1002C is a great spin bike for the price.  The quality is as expected.  Assembly was easy and no problems so far.”

J.Y.:
“I was looking for a spin bike that wasn’t going to break the bank and wasn’t going to break with my tubby build!  The Sunny SF-B1002C is an absolute champ!  I’ve been using this several times a week for around 8 months or so.  I like to exercise while watching TV and my only complaint about this spin bike is that it is rather noisy compared to the more expensive bikes.  We have to turn the sound on the TV up quite a bit.  Overall though I am very happy and can’t imagine getting a better bike for the money.”

T.G.:
“Having received the Sunny SF-B1002 spin bike a few days ago, my initial impression is that this is a quality bike for the price.  It was really easy to assemble, just a few allen bolts and 2 screws to deal with.  Once leveled, this bike is extremely stable.  I’m 5 ft 11” tall and weigh over 200 lbs and this bike is rock solid when I’m cycling on it. The belt drive on this spin bike is very quiet.  I’m just going to add some silicone to the brake pad which is squeaking slightly.  My only gripe is that the tension knob takes a good amount of turns to go from zero tension to full – I would have liked it to adjust more quickly, but that’s a small negative to what is otherwise a really great spin bike.”

M.L.:
“I’m a cycle instructor and bought the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-B1002 spin bike to replace a used professional bike I bought from a health club.  Having used this bike so far, we’ve found that this spin bike comes close to the ones you find in health clubs.  It can accommodate tall cyclists (my partner is 6ft 5” and uses it no problem).  I would definitely say this bike is a good choice for the home gym.  Assembled this bike in less than 30 minutes.”
N.B.  It's always advisable to consult your doctor or health care professional if you are new to exercise or have any concerns relating to your health and fitness regime.
